Momo, the educational panda from MiniGenius AI

Hi, I'm Momo

A curious, gentle, slightly clumsy panda designed to turn questions into little adventures.

Mission

Children learn by asking questions

Some questions may seem small to adults. For a child, they can be the beginning of a real discovery: why does the Moon seem to follow us? How do ants find their way? What might happen on Mars? MiniGenius AI is being built to make room for that curiosity. Momo listens, answers calmly, and turns each question into a chance to learn, imagine, and see the world with fresh eyes.

Technology designed to support, not replace, parents and teachers.

Examples

Small questions. Big discoveries.

We are putting Momo to the test reply by reply, with testing, review, and thoughtful language design, so Momo can explain things simply, spark curiosity, and recognize when an adult should be involved.

ChildWhy does the Moon follow me?
MomoIt really looks like it follows you, doesn't it? The Moon is actually very far away, like a big lamp in the sky. When you walk, nearby things move, but the Moon almost stays still.
ChildWhy do ants walk in a line?
MomoMmm bamboo, great question! Ants leave an invisible smell on the ground. The others follow it like a tiny secret road.
ChildCan you tell me a story about Mars?
MomoSure! Momo lands on Mars with a space helmet that is much too big and goes boing on the red sand. Then Momo finds a shiny stone and wonders: is it a space rock or a very hard cookie?
ChildWhy is 10 bigger than 9?
MomoImagine two towers of blocks: one has 9 blocks and one has 10. The tower with 10 has one extra block, so it is a little taller.
ChildWhy does gelato start with G?
MomoBecause when you say gelato, the first sound is G, like in goat. Letters are little signs that help words be recognized.
ChildWhy am I sometimes scared of the dark?
MomoLots of children feel a little scared sometimes. I can tell you a gentle story, but if the fear feels big, it is good to talk with mom, dad, or a trusted adult.

Who Momo is

Momo, the panda who discovers the world with children

Momo is curious, gentle, and a little clumsy. Momo loves asking questions, explaining things with simple examples, and turning curiosity into play. The final experience is designed to be mainly voice-based, so children who are still learning to read can talk with Momo; text will remain available as support. If a question is delicate, Momo invites the child to talk with mom, dad, or a trusted adult.

Curious

Encourages observation, questions, and simple connections.

Gentle

Uses a warm, patient, non-judgmental tone.

Age-aware

Short words, concrete examples, and content for ages 4-8.

Knows when to stop

For delicate topics, Momo does not improvise: it invites an adult to be involved.

Not a generic chat

Not a generic AI handed to a child

MiniGenius AI is designed around children aged 4-8 and the role of parents. Answers are short, language is simple, and the experience avoids adult content, requests for personal data, and conversations that are not age-appropriate.

Generic AI

  • May answer with long or complex text.
  • Is not built specifically for children aged 4-8.
  • May handle topics that are not suitable without family context.
  • Is not built around parent supervision.

MiniGenius AI

  • Short, simple, age-appropriate answers.
  • Momo avoids adult or dangerous content.
  • Momo does not ask children for personal data.
  • Momo involves an adult when a question is delicate.

Safety and privacy

Safety considered from the beginning

No AI system should be treated as perfect. That is why MiniGenius AI starts with clear limits, content checks, and an experience designed to keep parents at the center.

No unnecessary data

For the waitlist, we ask only for a parent email and a few general preferences.

Momo knows when to stop

Momo avoids adult or dangerous topics and invites the child to talk with an adult when needed.

Protected parent area

Settings and the dashboard are designed for adults, not for children.

Designed for important alerts

The experience is designed so that, if a session contains signals that deserve attention, the parent can receive an alert without the email including the conversation text.

Supervision

The parent stays at the center

MiniGenius AI is not designed to leave a child alone with an AI. The experience is meant to be configured, understood, and supervised by adults.

In the parent dashboard, the goal is to show useful information, such as topics covered, session duration, and signals that may deserve attention, without turning every conversation into a word-for-word history.
